Partnership with My Dream Now

For a  sustainable society.

DLL and My Dream Now have a long-term partnership for a more sustainable society

Since 2012, DLL has a long and strong collaboration with My Dream Now, which supports schools in vulnerable areas with valuable collaboration with working life. Thanks to committed employees and efforts for social sustainability, My Dream Now and DLL together have inspired young people to understand their opportunities in working life and find their own paths to jobs and dreams.

What does the partnership look like?

- In areas with high potential many teenagers lack role models and need inspiration about job opportunities. DLL employees are encouraged to engage with youth during study visits and to leave work four times per year to visit a school as a class coach. A team of four volunteers from different companies make teenagers understand their opportunities and encourage them to find their own paths to jobs and dreams. DLL demonstrates a long term commitment to youth and social sustainability through a valuable partnership with My Dream Now since 2012.

- To see DLL class coaches connect with teenagers from  different backgrounds and make them realize their potential is truly inspiring for me. I am proud that we are able to work together with other companies over time, which is quite unique. Together we truly create social sustainability!

- Jonas Bygdeson, Founder of My Dream Now, CEO Creador AB.

Why did you chose to be a classcoach?

- I have chosen to engage in My Dream Now to somehow give back. Everyone don’t have the same opportunities today growing up in Stockholm and If I can contribute to decrease the segregation barriers, I’d be more than happy. I like the coach sessions with the class. Because then you are given the opportunity to follow the same class for three years and get to know them more than if you meet someone once.

- Petra Nyström, Manager IT & Business Development Nordics, DLL.

How do you see the future for youth in terms of education and the risk for social exclusion?

- We believe that in general, it’s very important to support and help young people with a lack of family resources. In addition to that, the situation with the pandemic and closed schools, has made our work today even more valuable. An additional difficulty is that most of the schoolwork today, relies on the student’s own capability to keep up to current speed and motivation, in combination with limited access to teachers.

How do DLL work with social inclusion?

- We know that the level of school attendance, with higher engagement and adequate grades to continue to gymnasium/high school is crucial when it comes to not be a part of social exclusion. In the areas of segregation where My dream Now operate, we clearly see that families with limited resources to ensure a safe and qualified education for their children hardly exists. Our commitment to My Dream Now is in line with the core values of DLL and this cooperation makes us very proud to be a part of, says Victoria Geiborg.
